Can't wait to start the next volume. Nothing heavy, nothing too complex, very LIGHT. Fujitaka has good technical skill and translator Elizabeth Ellis did a great job localizing it. Despite the name and cover image, this volume doesn't deal with Yuichi's big sis much. More than anything her presence in the title seems an excuse to keep the overlong light novel title tradition in effect which, much to my delight, the book plays that trope for a joke as well. 2015年 02月28日 文庫 978-4-7986-0976-8 638円 姉ちゃんは中二病 6 邪神復活で今度こそ人類滅亡!? It reminds me of some of the light manga I used to read years ago. If you have difficulty suspending disbelief, then you probably will have a lot of difficulty enjoying this book. At times it even feels like James Bond with its action moments. The author finally started giving more details about the main character as the action started kicking off. The tone of this is very light-hearted. When I started reading this one I thought it was kind of crazy but would settle down after a few chapters, it did not. Love interest at this point seems fairly obvious, so I'm hoping they throw a wrinkle into that measure. There's a lot of stylings too. Nothing heavy, nothing too complex, very LIGHT. Characterization is much better than I have come to expect from the genera, sure the characters are a bit 2D but they gradually fill out as the story progresses, so while there isn't a major decisive change in a character, I was left with the distinct impression that the characters might actually be real people. Some are self explanatory, Mum, and Dad over his parent head, but when he starts school he starts seeing signs like vampire and serial killer. My first thoughts were that the labels the character sees would ruin the plot. Fujitaka has good technical skill and translator Elizabeth Ellis did a great job localizing it. Lots of comedy and silly situations, but fortunately they're not pushed to slapstick enough to become problematic. The very opposite of the work Yen Press has been putting out in their VN line. Pleasantly enough, it's a pretty decent one so far. If you like speculative fiction or fantasy at all, you should totally pick up a copy and read it, I doubt you'll be disappointed. After reading this volume I have so many questions, guess it's on the next volume. We also learned more about one of the girls, Takeuchi. It suffers from some flaws, for example many characters are thrown out only to be in one scene no doubt set up for future stories. All in all I found the book entertaining from start to finish. It's a fun little book, filled with humorous little episodes. I was like why not and I am glad I did. Well worth the read if you're interested. My only complaint is that it was over far too soon, I easily could have finished it in a day had I set aside the time to do so. I imagined the art for the scenes, the composition of the characters, even line deliveries with a smile. This was exactly the sort of book I needed right now. A light diversion that brought a smile to my face and kept me entertained throughout… and yes, I have already picked up book 2. It kept me engaged through out the story. I don't want to spoil too much, but you'll meet a lot of characters that will make you rethink the monster tropes, including some that break certain rules. It reminds me of some of the light manga I used to read years ago. It's a wonderful flight of fancy, but hard-sf it most definitely is not. That being said, I found it to be an amazingly fun book, with some shockingly adult situations for a work that would otherwise come across as targeted at 12 year olds. The book still doesn't say much about Noro, the vampire, so I hope a future volume gives us more about her. Overall it was a very interesting start to a series and I'm keen to see where it leads. I picked this up because another light novel kept name dropping this one. The book still doesn't say much about Noro, the vampire, so I hope a future volume gives us more about her. If you like series like , I think you'll enjoy this work. The book is only available as an ebook, which I find unfortunate as I like to have hard copies of my books, hardcover or paperback, I prefer both to my kindle which I reserve entirely for out of print books or cases like this where it is the only format available.
